The prestigious complex at Aphrodite Hills is set in a protected area, approximately a mile from the Mediterranean where, according to legend, Aphrodite rose from the sea. The area, and Cyprus in general, is of great historical interest, (a World Cultural Heritage location) and there is something to suit everyone. A 20-minute motorway drive away to the west of the resort is Paphos, with its harbour, sea-front amenities, shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. In the surrounding villages you will find small supermarkets and many small, family-owned tavernas serving good local food and wines. They are welcoming and well worth the trip to seek them out. To the east, about 40-mins drive away, is the larger town of Limassol with its comprehensive tourist attractions and shopping. The picturesque village of Pissouri is 15-mins east of Aphrodite Hills as is the seaside resort of Pissouri Bay, offering water sports among its attractions. Larnaca airport is approx 75 minutes away.
